Coon Rock is an unincorporated community located in the town of Arena in Iowa County, Wisconsin, United States. Coon Rock is 4 miles (6 km) southeast of Spring Green, Wisconsin. My plan is to photograph the area's beauty, give you a little history of the area, and a glimpse of my little part of the world.

The Dover School
The Dover school (now empty) is directly across the road from the cemetery on Hwy 14.
It's interesting to me that there still stands some of these old one-room school buildings. I wish that the communities would recycle them because they are historical remnants of an important past.
Unfortunately it is privately owned now, and the guy that owns it keeps it shut up. I would love to see how it looks inside and also it sure would be nice if the village of Arena or others would purchase it and bring it back to life. A lot of the old school houses in this area have been renovated and are now single family homes. There are still a lot of them standing though. The Coonrock School house is now a small bed and breakfast, is privately owned by a neighbor, as it is on his land. He rents it out as a very tiny bed and breakfast, and people do rent it for a weekend or such in the country.
